Dominican Republic Digital Entry & Exit E-Ticket: As of January 1, 2021, all travelers to the Dominican Republic are required to fill out the mandatory digital entry and exit forms found at https://eticket.migracion.gob.do/. Once completed, 2 QR codes will be generated to present at the airport on arrival and departure. You will need to select the hotel you will be staying at during your stay from the provided hotel list. It is recommended travelers complete these forms 72 hours prior to departure and keep a printed or screenshot version on hand while traveling. Please note, there have been reports of technical difficulties when completing the forms using Safari on Apple devices, so it is recommended to try different web browsers or devices. Incidental Expenses
For your convenience, the hotel maintains a separate account for incidental/personal charges, which should be paid directly to the hotel prior to your departure. The Hard Rock Hotel Punta Cana accepts only MASTERCARD, VISA, American Express and DISCOVERY credit cards, debit cards or U.S. dollars for payment of this account. 

Currency and Exchange
The official currency in the Dominican Republic is the Dominican Republic Peso, however, the U.S. dollar (US$) is readily accepted. Canadian dollars can be exchanged at a licensed exchange bureau in the airport, or at the currency exchange desk at the hotel. We suggest that you carry a small amount of US$ with you and visit the ATM at the resort if you require additional funds. The ATM machine at the resort dispenses Pesos only and there is a small fee to use the ATM. Travellers Cheques are not accepted. We recommend that you confirm the prices and currency of any items you wish to purchase prior to completing the transaction as prices may be listed in either Pesos or US$. If you will be using a credit card for purchases, please advise your credit card company of your travel plans to avoid any inconveniences while travelling.

Tap Water

The tap water in your room is purified, however it is not recommended that you drink or brush your teeth with tap water. Use only bottled water that is marked as “Purified” (“agua purificada”). Guestrooms will be replenished daily with bottled water.

Internet Access
Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in all guestrooms and throughout the resort. To avoid any carrier charges, it is recommended to keep your mobile device off or in 'Airplane Mode' until you are able to connect to Wi-Fi upon checking into the hotel.

Telephone Access
Your guestroom is equipped with a telephone that allows you to make direct-dial calls. All phone calls to the Continental U.S. and Canada are complimentary. You will be responsible for any charges associated with calls outside the U.S. or Canada, or any 1-800 type calls.

Travel Document Information and Requirements
Please check your documents carefully for accuracy. The name on your electronic airline tickets must exactly match the name on your passport, otherwise boarding may be denied. If there are any discrepancies, please contact INFO@LUXOTICRETREATS.COM. Note: The first name, middle name or initial (if applicable), and last name on your ticket must EXACTLY match what is listed on your passport or boarding may be denied. U.S. citizens must carry a passport with six months’ validity post-travel (i.e. Sept 13, 2022) for travel to the Dominican Republic. For further U.S. passport information, visit www.travel.state.gov. During your flight, all travellers will be required to fill out Customs and Immigration forms. After approving your entry, stamping your form and collecting your immigration and tourist card, you will be able to proceed to the luggage carousel.

We suggest downloading WhatsApp to connect with our group, your friends & family while you are away to avoid incurring international charges on your phone. If they are on social media- Facebook calling and Instagram Video calls could work as an option.  HERE are directions on how to use WhatsApp.

 

Vacation Protection Plan [VPP] Pre-Departure Waiver

The following benefits are provided by Vacation Express and are not insurance benefits.

Cancellations:
You can cancel for any reason a minimum of 24 hours prior to original scheduled departure time as indicated in your travel documents or no later than noon the day prior to departure for hotel-only bookings. When you purchase the VPP, all applicable cancellation charges [does not include change fees or reduced deposit plan fees] as per your Terms and Conditions contract will be refunded in the form of Vacation Express future travel certificates, known as a VPP Voucher, less the VPP plan cost as follows:

1.Vacation Express exclusive non-stop flight packages and hotel only packages will receive a VPP voucher for the cost of the package, less the VPP plan cost.

2.Scheduled-air packages will receive a VPP voucher for the cost of the hotel portion less the VPP plan cost along with the airline ticket numbers and be advised of the ticket cost. If you used the reduced deposit plan [RDP] for your booking you must have paid for your airline ticket, insurance and the cost of RDP in full in order to receive the airline ticket for future use. Travelers can use the cost of the airline ticket, less the airline change fee [typically $250 per ticket] to purchase a new ticket to:

 

•The same Vacation Express destination on same carrier

•A different Vacation Express destination on same carrier

•Any destination that the issuing carrier serves. This option requires contacting the issuing airline directly for reservations.

Each airline carrier has different rules on rebooking travel, we recommend contacting the airline immediately to ensure you have the most updated information.

VPP Voucher Information:

•Vouchers are issued in the original names of the passengers on the booking at the time of cancellation.

•The vouchers are non-transferable and name changes will not be accepted.

•Passengers have one year from original date of travel to rebook and travel using their voucher toward another package to any Vacation Express destination.

•VPP can be repurchased when rebooking your vacation with the original VPP voucher.

•Under no circumstances does the VPP allow for a full or partial cash refund, nor can it be extended.

•Please check with your airline for their specific requirements.

 

Change Fee Waiver:
A one-time change fee, per person will be waived prior to final payment due date. This applies only to Vacation Express change fees per our Terms and Conditions Contract. This does not include airline change fees where applicable. No changes can be made to bookings with non-refundable hotel rates. Re-issuing of airline tickets or hotel deviations while in-destination will incur a $75 per person change fee.
