 COVID‑19 testing requirements

Both foreigner and Indonesian passport holders entering Tanzania directly or transiting via other country must provide a printed medical certificate with a negative COVID‑19 PCR test, in which the sample taken must be a maximum 48 hours before departure. (No earlier Than 10 AM EST Tuesday, June14, 2022 if you are on the Luxotic Group flight)

Travellers entering Tanzania, including Tanzanian nationals, returning residents and passengers transiting through land borders who are:

a. Fully vaccinated will be exempt from both COVID‑19 RT (REAL TIME) ‑PCR and rapid antigen testing requirements. Travellers will be required to present a valid vaccination certificate with a QR code for verification on arrival. The only accepted vaccines are those approved by the URT and the World Health Organization.

b. Not fully vaccinated, unvaccinated and those not eligible for vaccination due to their country policy will be required to present a negative COVID‑19 RT‑PCR or NAATs test certificate with a QR code issued within 72 hours before departure. Passengers travelling from countries listed on the Ministry of Health website(Opens an external website in a new tab) must undergo rapid antigen testing on arrival at their own cost of USD 10 (TZS 23,000). Travellers who test positive they undergo RT‑PCR testing to confirm and will be allowed to self‑isolate while waiting for their results.

THE LUXOTIC BACK TO AFRICA RETREAT WILL BE HOSTED AT THE RIU JAMBO RESORT, A 5-STAR PROPERTY LOCATED IN NORTHERN ZANZIBAR, 1 HOUR NORTH OF THE ZNZ AIRPORT.

IF YOU ARE NOT ON THE LUXOTIC GROUP FLIGHT, ALL SEPARATE FLIGHTS MUST ARRIVE TO ZANZIBAR, TANZANIA (ZNZ AIRPORT) NO LATER THAN THURSDAY JUNE17 AT 09:00 AM LOCAL TIME. ANYONE WHO BOOKS WITHOUT THE LUXOTIC GROUP FLIGHT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR BOOKING THEIR OWN TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM THE RESORT, OR PAY $100 BELOW TO INCLUDE ROUND TRIP AIRPORT TRANSFER)

Visa

US citizens with a US passport that is valid for more than six months do not need to obtain a Tanzanian visa prior to traveling if the duration of their visit will be less than one month. Visas are NOT included and are required for U.S. citizens traveling to Tanzania. Visas are $100 paid directly online through the Tanzanian Immigration processing portal, and NOT to Luxotic.Passengers may apply for a visa online in advance of travel. Click here to complete the form needed to receive your visa.

Money Conversions

HERE is a currency converter that you can use to get an idea of how far your money will go in Tanzania. Be sure to update the curreny to Tanzanian Shillings.

Incidentals

Per our Terms and Conditions, the Riu Jambo will collect your credit card information for all additional charges and incidentals. Luxotic Retreats has your permission to charge the card on file for any incidentals or damages found, of which you will be notified, no later than 10 days after your reservation date.

Communication

We suggest downloading WhatsApp to connect with our group, your friends & family while you are away to avoid incurring international charges on your phone. If they are on social media- Facebook calling and Instagram Video calls could work as an option for you as well!  We will also be using WhatApp for Emergency communications so please ensure you download it and are familiar with how to use it.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Our photography and videography team will be capturing every guest and every moment of this experience, which is included in your retreat package and will be available immediately after the retreat for all guests. Photography and videography will capture guests during the experiences, seminars and excursions. If you are interested in a one-on-one photo and video shoot outside of the experience shots that are taken, individual photo and video shoot are available for purchase.

TRAVEL INSURANCE
